Posted once. Never twice.
A post that goes out twice on a client's page is the mistake people remember. It nearly always has the same cause, and Indably is built so it can't happen.
Why schedulers post twice
A scheduler sends your post to the network and waits for an answer. Sometimes the answer doesn't come: the connection drops, or the network is slow and the request times out. The post may well be live by then, but the scheduler doesn't know that.
Most tools treat silence as failure and send the post again. If the first one did go out, you now have two. On a client's page, at 09:00 on a Monday.
Indably treats silence as unknown, not failed. Unknown means look, not retry.
What Indably does instead
-
08:59:59Claim
Claim the post before sending it
The post is marked as being sent before it leaves. Two workers, or a restart at the wrong moment, can never send the same post.
-
09:00:00Send
Send it, and listen
If the network answers, the post is published or it isn't, and Indably knows which. If the network didn't even receive it, Indably can safely try again later.
-
09:10:00Look
Look on the network first
When the answer was lost, Indably searches the account for the post: same text, around the same time. Found it? It's marked published, with its link, and its numbers start coming in.

09:10:01Ask
Ask a person when it can't tell
Some networks don't show apps every post (TikTok only lists public ones). When Indably can't be sure, it asks a person to look. Only a Manager who confirms the post isn't there can send it again.
The same rule, everywhere
Ads launch the same way: a campaign that fails halfway carries on from where it stopped rather than making a copy. A scheduled report whose email might have timed out isn't resent on its own. YouTube uploads resume where they stopped, and Indably asks YouTube whether a video arrived before ever uploading it again.
The rule is checked by automated tests on every change to Indably, including tests that prove they'd catch a blind retry.
